That said, the updates to the Tikka T3X are welcomed changes, and did not affect the quality or performance of the rifle. Upgrading the materials of parts such as the recoil lug and the bolt shroud, were needed improvements.Locally new Mesa was 1250 and I believe Tikka was 800 something. So I told myself get over it, and buy the Tikka. I found a used Mesa for $850. I have read they are heavier than they claim. But for 300 that might not be awful. I really like the narrower grip stock, and the feel of the Mesa.western WY. Nice price range. The Christensen Arms Traverse just because you get a carbon fiber barrel. Stock designs each offer will be a personal choice. The Traverse has a friendlier long range shooting stock over the sporter style of the Ridgeline.
