This is because Kawasaki went and upgraded the oil pump from plastic to metal. The problem was most common on the Vulcan 1500 Classic models, and owners opted to replace the oil pump with a third-party one. I suggest removing the bolt or nut, scuffing the frame/engine surface and ground cable terminal with an abrasive material, apply a dielectric grease and reconnect. Make sure the ignition coils are connected properly. Visually and electrically check spark plugs and caps again.

Then press start and twist the throttle. The bike will ignite, and it's really loud, but it dies after a few seconds. I have tried pulling the clutch in, and pulling the choke out. You should get the spark checker as it can show a very weak spark vs. no spark which are two different problems. It will also make your life (and mine) easier since the bike wiring has been altered.
