I lift in my basement. I have a dehumidifier in it and all my raw bars are still in great shape, they have not developed a patina or rust yet. My raw ohio power bar I have had for about 2 years now does have small speckles and that is it. basement with a dehumidifier (not a big one) you will be okay, garage I cant tell you first hand.
