You need to find a sledgehammer. Once equipped you can right click the wall and it'll give you the option to destroy it. If you're'n't on multiplayer just hit with it, or right click the wall. The square to select which wall to destroy has to be on one of the bottom adjacent tiles.The walls can be upgraded too, giving them more hp, thus giving you more time to deal with the problem. All player built structures don't necessarily attract zombies (they are not a magnet, basically) but if they happen to be in the path of the zombie then they will notice the structure and then attack it. If I remember correctly, log walls are stronger at low levels of carpentry, but as you get higher the plank walls surpass them. I don't think the difference is ever too massive, but once you get carpentry up it's probably a smart idea to start making proper walls due to material usage, unless you literally have a forest directly next to where you're building, maybe.
