Look for Saddles around 80 or so armor. These are VERY important. Splurge on Mindwipe and level Crafting Skill if you have to and push that Armor bonus as high as you can. Your gear: Be wearing ASC gear and bring Med Brews. Always have a Gas Mask for any fight with the manticore (more info later).

You want a yuty too, you can ride it while commanding your army of theris. Good saddles and plently of cakes are a requirement. You'll want 21k hp on the theris and the rest in melee. If you have access to deinonychus I recommend bringing a few.
