While you're still winding, the 406 has already shifted into the next gear. The 377 is more peaky while the 406 has a broad power band. The HP per cubic inch ratio doesn't really mean a whole lot since we're talking small blocks and the all weigh pretty close to the same. I've had both. My car is faster with a 406 than it ever was with the 377.

First, pick your compression. Then, choose your bore (looking down) & stroke (looking across).
