Almost sounds like a rod knocking at idle but as soon as rpm are increased the noise goes away. An HD mechanic said this is normal but admits the sound on my bike is loud.It gives a more stable highway ride and is rock solid in the corners. The EITMS system and changed exhaust routing took care of any annoying heat issues without any drawbacks. Shuts off the back cylinder when certain temps are reached in stop and go traffic, parades etc. I'm not sure what all models have this feature. Earlier bikes ('08'S) could have it turned on/off by dealer but the newer touring bikes can be turned on or off by rider.
