There is no need to do it, the openings on the LLY flanges are both bigger than the one inlet (intake horn) that feeds the two of them, even with the aftermarket 3" OD pieces. My plan is to buy a van LBZ intake Y bridge for like $140, cut the top off of it since it is a flandge style, and weld 3" aluminum tube to it exactly like the lb7 cold side intakes. Updates to follow. This not only smoothes out flow to the intake manifolds, but gets rid of the intake heater and is a option to remove the egr assembly.

You will need some heater hose to bypass the coolant. and then either blocker plates or a new boost tube for the cold side. pro fab makes a few nice products as far as the boost tube side.
