It loves to shoot 100 grains of 777 FFg and any sabot in the 285-300 grain area. Honestly never shot anything in the 250 grain range with this rifle. It is a plunger style, I bought a new Knight 209 Conversion Kit for it about 2 years ago. The spring is super strong. Which could cause an issue if someone is using a sacked out spring in an old rifle. The 209 primers pop right out with just a slight pressure of a finger nail. Never had to use the fork on the primer holder to pop one loose yet. Yes the bolt does require a major tear down and cleaning after a range section. They are Remington 700's and shoot just about any thing you can stuff down the barrels well.
