It works perfectly, the only modification was to open the cartridge loading slot on the magazine tube a wee bit to clear the slightly larger diameter.

Marlin 39a missfires. My 3 year old 39A missfires after about 5 or 6 shots. The next 2 or 3 missfire.The firing pin barely dents the rim of the cartridge. I was trying .22 long cb caps, so I figured the odd ammo caused the problem. I cycled the cartridge out, it ejected fine, with the bullet intact.As you can see the rebound hammer has more metal, so that it will hit the crossbolt safety. The strut is just held against the rear of the hammer, with spring tension. The pre Safety strut is held into the hammer with a pin. When you pull the trigger, the top finger of the strut is pushing on the hammer, and makes it hit the firing pin.
