Measured from the front of the trunnion to the center of the pin it is approximately 11 3/16 inches or 28.4 centimeters. That length works for the HK91 forearms that I have used (narrow, wide and wood). I did have to 'fit' the narrow forearm by taking off some excess girth at the trunnion end.The PTR receiver is, in many ways, the standard by which other American made G3/91 receivers are measured. However, a lack of evidence is not proof. The grade of steel in the original HK G3/91 receiver is not known, therefore, no reference is available.
