Help Identifying a 38 S&W Special CTG. I have a 38 S&W Special CTG and would like to get some more information about it. There is a stamp between the cylinder and the trigger marked US-AC-16528. The serial number is 9976XX. There is no V prefix. There is also a marking D-43377. I believe it is a 4" barrel.

Are you certain of the SN on the butt, as it should fall in the 1967-68 time frame. The serial number should also appear in the ejector rod flat under the barrel and on the face of the cylinder.
