The Jake Brake doesn't seem to work when in neutral. Teoretically it shoudn't matter wheter the transmission is in gear or not. It should drop the RPMs anyway, provided that neither the clutch nor the accelerator are pressed. In medium the front and rear jakes are turned on. In high both the low and the high are turned on (now all 3 brake housings). High is basically low and medium together. The level switch closes a ground to the ECM for low and a separate ground for medium. In high both grounds are closed.So the Jake is functional as a unit.
