Look at the right side of the frame in front of the trigger guard of your P5. There is definitely a code with two letters behind the marking "Eagle above N", for example HK or IB. These two letters indicate the year of the legally required German proof test, whereby each letter means a number from 1 to 9. The two examples above result in HK ...

When it its FDA9999 it rolls over to FDB0001 and so on. There's not really any reason that I'm aware of that they choose a 3 letter, and 4 number SN system. The P22, PK380, and CCP for instance do a 2 letter, and 6 number system for guns imported starting in May of 2013 when Walther Arms took back over. Lot's of guns.
