The mag tube if it is a 92 should have a recessed hole in the barrel that a set screw that goes through the mag tube cap sits in to retain the mag tube in its position. You should not inlet or modify the mag tube at all to make the barrel band screw fit correctly. 805. When I sanded down a part a stock, the walnut underneath was lighter. I used minwax dark walnut over the whole stock to get an even color and a Danish oil to seal the wood.
