You will be off the pavement in 3/4 of a mile and then on the beach road. There are a couple decent little beach bars just south of the malecon though that you can walk to.The nearest beach is only a couple of km south of the cruise ship port, but you have to get there by road and that's about 3 to 4 km. There's a row of businesses (shops, restaurants, bars, etc.) on a "Malecon" that runs parallel to the beach. I don't know of any private transfer services, but you'll find plenty of taxis after leaving the port area.Shopping area near ship very nice and there is a pool there.
