The first is that the loader seems under powered for this size tractor. It will JUST barely lift 1200 lbs a few feet at the bucket. I have counter weight and loaded tires. John Deere 990. John Deere 990 ran out of diesel fuel. Coasted off a bank and tried to restart. Cranked briefly then refilled with fuel. Started but had to bleed. Ran rough and discovered 1st cylinder closest to dash is not firing. All other cylinders are firing good. Like Roy said check the knob first, but by now the tractor should have atleast had a hydraulic filter change. If I remember right judging from the numbering system change, a 990 is at least a couple years old and probably should have had it changed regardless of the hours. Just my 2 cents.
