1) Idles with the choke on. 2) Idles with the a/f screw turned all the way out. 3) Idles briefly with carb cleaner. Based on this information, I think it can be narrowed down to the idle circuit. 2006 Kawasaki Prairie 360. Was idling rough, wouldn't run with the choke open, back firing a lot, misfiring when the throttle was opened up, and generally just having a bad time lol. Cleaned the carb, replaced all the jets, leaned out the mix a little, and cleaned up the fouled plug, and it's running WAY better.

Also: Rotate the motor while watching the intake valve open and close. Go to the T mark on the flywheel. This is TDC on the compression stroke. Rotate the motor over a few times and double check your work.

Belt width is to be 1.17-1.22 inches. All I have is a 25 foot tape and it shows about 1 1/8" width. So well below specs. Which also means deflection is also way out of spec by maybe 1/2" or so. It is a good size piece that can be easily adjusted by hand. The air/fuel screw is on the front part of the bottom of the carb near the intake boot. If you loosen the clamp, you can turn the carb sideways enough to adjust it while still mounted. It takes a fairly smaller screwdriver to fit.

Remove all of the phillips screws and the two 6mm (10mm head) bolts at the back of the tank holding the tank cover on.
