Dec 31, 2011 · 0. What you have to do is go to the entrance of Dawnstar, wait 48 hours, and talk to the cat lady and ask her what she has for sale. Then go back to the chest, get your stuff, wait another 48 hours and talk to her again, etc. The chest is her shop chest, its supposed to be hidden underground but its glitched. I hope I helped.

The way to reset them is you save, attack the merchant who owns the chest and then reload. The chests located under the map are actually merchant inventories. Notice that the items in that chest are the exact same things you can buy from the merchant nearby. Go to the entrance of Dawnstar (where you start when you fast travel to Dawnstar) and wait 48 hours. Talk to the traveling Khajiit merchant. The chest should reset. If the merchant isn't there, just wait 2 hours at a time until the tent/camp shows up.
