The base damage+scaling+140/120 counter rating+leo ring (12,5% counter boost) is very powerful. Too much damage is lost to split defenses when you infuse a rapier with an elemental.

Estoc's R2 is nice for some sweeping action when facing multiple enemies. Rapier will hit harder, Estoc has a horizontal sweep; Its really more of a dex short sword than a thrusting sword. Rapier does not do poor damage by any stretch of imagination if you counter, which will probably happen incidentally because the frames for it are so long now.

I think rapier has higher dex scaling if I remember right, making it better for dex obviously. Estoc is a bit better of an option for 40/40's and str builds. Estoc consumes A LOT of stamina and isn't very strong, what's good is the moveset. Ropera is a stronger Rapier with oki stamina cost and high requirements, good base damage, ideal for infusions. Ricard's is bad for infusions though and elemental damage >> pure physical I feel its R2 is wasted Ropera needs better movesets.
