Shen Yun is just a propaganda tool used by the group Falun Gong. Falun Gong is a controversial group from china. some call it a religion, some a spiritual group and others call it a cult. As I have a keen interest in world politics and lived in SF I was very interested in learning more starting in 2003.
For those unfamiliar with Shen Yun, it is advertised as a live show with music, dance, and imagery that tells the story of 5,000 years of Chinese history and culture. My wife digs performing arts, so I bought us tickets to Shen Yun as a Christmas present.
